Negotiation in the Global South

Dear students,

The Workshop Department is pleased to invite you to its next event as part of Diplomacy Week, on the theme of Negotiation and the Global South in today’s international relations.

We will have the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Ana Maria Alvarez, an expert in national and multilateral development banks, who is actively involved with several United Nations agencies and academic institutions across Latin America, Asia, and Africa. She will be joined by Ms. Violeta Fonseca, a specialist in consulting and project management. She has notably worked as a diplomat at the Permanent Mission of Venezuela and with both the United Nations and the WTO, giving her extensive expertise on the Global South.

You will have the opportunity to participate in a negotiation simulation and role-playing exercise focused on the challenges faced by Global South countries in contemporary global economic negotiations.
